Welcome to Abebayosh Charity, a heartfelt initiative founded by a fashion model Sara Baleker honor of her lifelong commitment to helping others and creating positive change. With a solid foundation in family values and community service, Abebayosh Charity is dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need.

Our Founder's Story

Sara journey with philanthropy began at an early age, inspired by the compassionate spirit of her father. Witnessing his tireless dedication to volunteering and organizing support for homeless individuals throughout the year deeply influenced Sami's own sense of responsibility towards society. She grew up observing her father's efforts to provide warmth, shelter, and assistance to over a thousand homeless individuals four times a year.

These formative experiences shaped Sami's perspective and instilled in her a deep empathy for those facing challenges. As she matured, her passion for giving back continued to grow, leading her to establish Abebayosh Charity to extend her family's legacy of altruism.

A Celebration of Tradition and Compassion

At the heart of Abebayosh Charity's annual fundraising efforts is Sami's innovative concept that seamlessly merges tradition with altruism. Drawing on her Ethiopian heritage, Sami introduced the "Abebayosh" event, a celebration of the Ethiopian New Year characterized by a special welcoming ceremony. During this ceremony, young girls visit their neighbors and sing joyful songs, spreading positivity and well-wishes for the coming year. In return for their performances, neighbors graciously contribute funds to show their appreciation.

Sara ingenuity led her to adapt this heartwarming tradition into a powerful fundraising tool for her community. She shared her idea with friends, inviting them to join in creating a new, meaningful way to support those in need. The initial success of this endeavor sparked the annual MM Charity Abebayosh event, which now serves as a cornerstone of our organization's mission.
